Working on the business case for sustainability is a bit like the evolution of texting.
Rumour has it that mobile phone companies couldn’t imagine texting ever taking-off. Texting was awkward. A consumer had to push a mobile phone button one, two or three times to get to a preferred letter.
The actual consumer experience told a different story. Texting was exciting, quick, fun and incredibly convenient. The teen crowd loved it. Text speak was born. As was a whole genre of text based services.
Sometimes its important to give ideas a go. Piloting an idea with stakeholders, especially customers, helps you define the true business case for sustainability.
